Inheritance
Despair follows in the faltering footsteps
of justice.
Weary, justice is,
As the demanding eons pursue her -
Weighing heavily
and perpetually
upon her scales - tipped
Reaching the degradation
of Hell
set upon her,
by Man.
The death of justice bears down
upon the child.
Blind the child is,
as the Book of Life, yellow with age
crumbles to dust
back to the Earth
as a dirge of sound echoes
through a cavern of time
lost ideals
set upon child
by Man
Life enters life - tiny fingers reach
out to grasp the breast of nurtured warmth
and love pours forth from the Milk of Life.
The hand grows - strong arms hold
the weapon of war
against his brother
the crack of death - swiftly
bounds the hunter
seeds of hate
set upon the Earth
by
Man
