Inherently Good

Being human there is the stronger urge That inborn desire towards good Or the diversion towards badness Our innate inborn capacity for good Equals our divergence towards badness The Lord searches the souls of men Examining intent and purpose Man is mostly inclined towards evil No one is good except the father Not one desires righteousness The Lord is not tempted by the flesh Nor is he a son of man in need of redemption But man is flesh and spirit- the two Constantly at cross-purpose and loggerheads Goodness or badness.. choice and circumstances

This one resonates, Lewis: States the truth as it is. In L3 of the last stanza 'is' repeats. Thanks for your visit to my poems. SuZ
