Indian Women Welcome God With Rangoli Designs

She cleans the floor outside entrance door, takes some rice powder in hand deftly moving her hands creates patterns on ground. Circles,squares many geometrical designs without any instruments... Sometimes even a scenery! Intricate designs easily created, her skills are praiseworthy. At times she puts dots on the ground joins them with hands for perfection On festivals she fills her designs with powders of different colours Or with flowers that takes lot of time but she has tons of patience... Big elaborate Rangoli can be seen on occasions like weddings, festivals and temples. Divine love for God pours forth as a woman draws them.

Thanks! Congratulations to you too. My son loves doing it. But Maharashtrian style with colour powders. He uses readymade plates available on which you have to put colours. Enjoy your day brother. Take care Rama

Kolam as they call it in Tamil, is a wonderful art! a very good ekphrasis!! must illustrate with a picture for the impact!! all the best!

This is a lovely write on Rangoli Rama. I make it for Diwali, and I love it. And yes, it needs so much patience. Sometimes, by the time I finish it, I get severe backache. Hugs ~ Ani
