In me, now is an insatiable thirst, I know well that I have lost my track. I have gone astray from my God, all goodness incarnate. Searching Him, lonely and longingly I stray, To place Him not in a shrine, but in my very innards. In me, now is an insatiable thirst, To offer my hand with childlike faith To the one who is forgiveness incarnate So long I have been running away from Him Taking devious turns, fleeing from His presence Now I discern, like a hound He has been after me. Through shadowed tunnels, He was following me. That’s why now I can see Him through the mist. In me, now is an insatiable thirst, To seek shade under the safety of all strength incarnate And to sup on His love that serves as balm. Madly once I ran struggling to keep pace With the spinning world moving very fast, To catch up at the illusory pleasures. Now my mind languishes in the prison of my own make, And wearily I trudge through valleys dark, With burdens heavy on my drooping shoulders. In me, now is an insatiable thirst, To hear His whispered words in deep quietude To calm my fears and to be filled with hope To feel His presence and to see Him close To hold His hand and to be led by Him To be held close like a babe to its mother To seek comfort, to find rest and to feel blest. Until I merge with my God, all goodness Incarnate, My soul will never be at peace. Oh Lord, hold me close!

Your poem is a beautiful and soulful expression of the desire for spiritual journeys and growth. These words spoke to me: To catch up at the illusory pleasures. Now my mind languishes in the prison of my own make, And wearily I trudge through valleys dark, With burdens heavy on my drooping shoulders. Some days I do feel that way...thus I do as you do... trust in God more, release my regrets, and embrace His love, grace & foregiveness. Insightful words filled with wisdom. Am faving.hugs, Sara

Hey Valsa.. Your poem delves deep into the speaker's journey of spiritual longing and rediscovery, expressing a profound thirst for connection with God and a yearning for inner peace. The repetition of the refrain "In me, now is an insatiable thirst" emphasizes the intensity of this longing and the urgency of the speaker's quest for divine presence. It is is a heartfelt prayer of surrender and yearning for spiritual union, expressing the universal human desire for connection with the divine. It speaks to the enduring quest for inner peace and the belief that true fulfilment can only be found in God, the source of all goodness and love.

Dear valsa, this is such a heartfelt and sincere poem that emanates faith you hold so dear to you, and your trust in God, to cleanse all that may have weighed you down. I love the flow of this and how you’ve expressed throughout this poem, so seamlessly woven. Especially that last line really stood out for me, soul hitting and powerful plea! I also love how you’ve written “ In me, now is an insatiable thirst, To offer my hand with childlike faith To the one who is forgiveness incarnate” i think many can resonate with that, as at some point we all get occupied with other things and forget to appreciate Gods blessings, youv delivered one that hits strong! Pleasure reading this! Sending you light always. Best wishes for the contest too

Who is that sheep that strayed from the flock, only for the Great Shepherd to search and find her? Repentance is a gift from God. Few care for it these days. Which is a pity. Beautiful poetry. Blessings.
