~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I congratulate the icicles on their serenity. They have courage and backbone; their hard hearts will never give way. Mid-morning I hear drops of water steadily falling. I look up at the eaves. I see the enactment of the same old story. The icicles are weeping away their inborn tears and if they only knew it, their true identity.
Very insightful poetry, Sara. Especially that last sentence or two lines. Many times, things aren't what they appear to be on the outside. I enjoyed reading your poetry today, my dear friend. Hugs, Bill
Dear Sara, your poem stirred a deep contemplation within me. How powerful with the metaphor of icicles shedding tears reflects the human struggle with emotions and identity. I loved that your words echo resilience amidst vulnerability so we can embrace our true selves. Sara, what fabulous reflection on courage and self-awareness. - Blessings, Daniel
A sweet verse that reminds me of the hardened icicles of some winters. They reminded me of swords.
I agree, Hilda. I sure wouldn't want to be beneath a long icicle when it started melting :-) Enjoy your day, hugs, Sara
