In Your Lifetime
In your lifetime you will not escape without doing at least one good deed,
No matter how much your greed.
To some one else your mere existence
Will be a positive influence
You will be a hero to more than just your Mum,
Even if you are a bum.
Your words of wisdom will reach a listening ear,
Even if you don't care.
Even one act of kindness freely given,
Will be felt in heaven.
And despite your worst efforts here
Someone will bestow love on you here.
Even if you mostly only shout,
The laughter trapped inside of you will find a way out.
And you will put on at least one good show,
Though you don't think so.
You will lead someone out of the night
Into the light,
You will give someone a reason to smile,
Even if you feel not worthwhile.
Your trust will be given out,
even where there is doubt.
And your advice will be taken
Even if you are faking.
You will discover a belief in something,
No matter what you are thinking.
A belief in yourself could be that something,
That would stop you sinking is what I am thinking.
