In There Faces
In Their Faces
In their faces
I see many things;
I see happiness and sadness
And a mind that’s wondering.
I see the joy
When they’ve scored well
On a test;
I see sadness
When they suffer
From the lack of rest.
I see victory
In each and every smile;
I see the pure heart
Of the innocent child.
I see the troubled child
Finding things hard to understand;
Being disobedient
When responding to a command.
I see special gifts
In the face of all
Some day to develop
Into the greatness
From which they have been called.
