In The Forest Are Two Cottages

Two cottages in the woosds people living there Why they chose this life No one really knows What really happwned Maybe they wanted A change in their lives It could be the city got crowded Or all the greenspace Was being used up For building new homes The land got crowded With all the new homes Greenspace was shrinking Lawns with little green the people just Went into the woods Started to build homes By clearing the land Begging a new life Living in the forest With plenty of green space they just cut some trees To give them more light Inside their new homes

My dear Darlene, your words are full of wisdom. Wonderful poem. People looking for quietness sometimes destroys it. The calm of the forests or countrysides becomes less possible with the presence of humans. Many animals are becoming in risk themselves and their habitat because we think that everything belongs to us. So wrong!. I loved to read this piece. It has so much to say. Well done. Have a lovely day my friend. Hugs!

Darlene, your poem offers a set of possible reasons for locating in the woods. I hope that the number of people that do this does not interfere with the ecology of the area! However, like changing a job, some of us need a change in scenery.

A lovely thought and beautiful words. I live in West Virginia, wild and wonderful! Even here we see less green and more gray everyday. I'm happy in my holler hide a way though!

Hello Crystol, I think you found your happy place. It sounds like a lovely place to live. Yes the green space is disappearing. In its place condos going up. It is not right for the green space to be gone. Where will the birds go? /Hugs. /Darlene/

Dear Darlene, love the imagery that you have poetically created in this lovely poem. Love the idea of the two cottages on their own in the woods surrounded by nature. It’s so true and worrying too that bit by bit we are all losing our open, green spaces and areas that once were supposed to be protected are now being built upon. Makes me so cross! They will be very happy in their cottages with more space. Really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. Hugs and blessings xx

They did it themselves. It was a very nice house. Except for the bathroom. It turned out to be an outdoor toilet. they lived there all year round. She passed away. I think the husband is still living. i am not sure. Hugs. Thank you for the lovely comment. Hugs. Darlene/

Hello Christina, Yes our greenspace is shrinking. I have noticed this when i lived in a small town. Houses were built on a small square of land. With no yard. Just a deck. There were no trees. I knew some one that lived in the woods. Theycleared part of the land , and built their home.
