In Search of Closure

Seeking closure A happy ending To the things I've done For the things I've said It's time to put to bed The guilt throbbing in my head Finding it hard to sleep at night Maybe it's the mattress Maybe it's my conscious Refusing me peace of mind Urging me to be kind To push rewind To examine the life I've lived Computing emotions memories evoke Regretting who I've become & what I've done My tongue is a viper full of poison My deeds are shameful & destructive Lives in ruins lie in my wake Savaging for closure Like a man lost in a desert, in need of water.
