In My Writing Space

In my writing space With pen and paper Two dictionaries near As well a thesaurus All handy when needed Now ready to create poems Wondering what to write Trying hard to ponder My eyes heavy from lack of sleep Did not slumber well Battle to stay awake Wanting to write a poem No luck tonight- I tried Will give it up and turn in Then create my poetry Tomorrow i will be alert To begin to write again In my writing space

Sounds so familiar. My writing space is on the edge of hospital bed where I spend a lot of time...not in a hospital, but at home. I pulled a plastic tub around, but it wasn't high enough, so I added till the right height for my computer...have shelves and....well, you know the hodgepodge of stuff writers need....but we write! Great poem

Hello Sara, I sometimes get ideas for poetry when i sleep. When that happens I wake up, then write down to sleep. Then I write my poem from the title. I have written many poems by doing this. I hope next time you remember your poem. Have a nice day my friend.I am well thank you.

Again Brilliant Darlene. Thinking is hard work and inspiration is fleeting. The Pen needs rest too. Love it not a word or thought wasted or cheapened

Hello Darlene, Your words here are certainly spot-on and roundly depict, I think, what most of us as poets go through in the creative writing process. Don't ever feel that you are alone!! Always jot down your theme ideas and any groups of words you can think of. And be sure to jot down any words associated with images you have when you dream at night while asleep. And, most important keep writing and having fun at it!! Cheers and Best Wishes, Gary

I think this is something we all go through. The blank time. Strangely enough, I always seem to come alive at four in the morning with writing ideas.

Oh that's familiar but, they're the nights I actually get sleep because Muse doesn't have anything to say. Well penned; flows well and has great imagery.
