It's hard to believe it's been a year ago today, That all your hopes and dreams were stripped away. So strong and lively and sure of yourself, Why you were chosen to leave us, Is something we will always ask ourselves. If only we would have known, that Friday would be your last day, We would have held you in our arms and never let you go away. We tried so hard to protect you, but couldn't that day, For God took you by the hand and led you his way. Now all we have are our memories to get us through the day, As we try to remember all the funny things you would do or say. We know you are watching over us and we'll truly never part, For we carry a piece of you with us always, Forever in our hearts.
