In Ebony
two feathers, each four inches long -
bought *for a song -
comprise a pair
of rings I wear
rings for my ears, not for my hands,
with silver strands
of beads entwine
my plumes divine!
the dark hue of the feathers goes
with many clothes
and flatters me
in ebony
* "for a song" is slang for "at a bargain price"t
