In and Out of Rehab

I’ll drink it down, neat in one go Drink it down, with nothing at all Straight up, knock it back Straight up, knock down the wall I don’t need, any mixers Diluted crap, don’t do it at all Hundred percent, no fifty fifty Line the lot up, against a wall Wanna feel it, burn my stomach Strip the lining, from the walls Rocket fuel, killing brain cells Moonshine with craters an all Sick and tired, of being sober Fed up looking at walls Rocking back and forth, uneasy Gonna eat the bottles an all I need drink, more than ever Sobriety is killing us all If you like, join in my battle We can throw up, against a wall Don’t care, if I’m an addict Sit around, and beg at a wall Gave me valium, sent me home Ha! I’ve got no willpower at all By David Kavanagh

David, this is a brave and straightforward poem. I've seen it happen much too frequently, and it's affected their health and attitude. I'm not sure if you're attempting to assist those folks whether that's a smart idea.

Thank you Lasaad, indeed I wanted this to be straightforward and simple as, possible, so I used a punk rock style as an experiment, see comment to Jan below, these people where always beyond help and openly admitted it, some where gentle souls, but others where quite vicious and dangerous back in the day, cheers David

Heya Jan, this one was written, in a kind of punk music format, I was thinking about all the alcoholics I remember as a teenager who where in and out of rehab, everyone of them are dead now, they never could kick the habit, some had admitted they had no willpower at all, cheers David
