In a Different Dream

I awoke this morning In this UK land Where people went about Their daily plan Someone else awoke In a different dream All he left behind Were silent screams His twin brother Their Solicitor at work A colleague, a friend What lit this spark His rampage continued From village to village Hindsight, gun sight Leaden pillage Many others perished To this mind from The flick of a switch His internal bomb Then the inevitable To a wooded covering Can't face the music No guilty hearing Once again There's the ones left behind Who have to unravel This man from mankind America and Finland have seen recent events on a tragic scale. The UK has in the past seen such events also with Hungerford and the children in Dunblane. Sadly we see it once again. May his soul ROT in HELL. http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/loss-5.php

Just heard more commentary on this tragic even this morning....so senseless, how a peaceful place with innocent folks could become a place of horror in a moment...so sad.

James, I am not watching the news very much and don't know what this is about...However, it doesn't sound good if it involves doing wrong to children.. Good rhyme and rhythm...Sara

Good work James. I have been reading about this senseless act with sadness and have written poems about similar happenings in the past. I have one posted. "The Quiet Ones". It is so sad. It has to be insanity but why pick on innocents? Thanks for posting . Love, Joyce

Hi James, it certainly has made sad and shocking news over the last few days. Your last stanza is just perfect - unravelling this man from mankind. I doubt we'll ever know what really drove him to carry out such murderous attacks, but what ever his demons in life, I hope he has many more in death. Good write on a difficult subject.
