Impoverishment

In a few days, the rent is due. Maybe my landlord does not know, Postponing the obvious blow, Or, delaying my outdoor view. Visitors spew residents who Evict themselves, due to no dough, Rather than let compassion show, Instantly stepping in my shoe. Sooner or later, he will come Here, expecting to get the rent. Meanwhile, I will keep playing dumb, Each time I am given a hint. Now, I really feel like a bum, Trying to savor my last cent.
