Im Still a Simple Country Boy

Well it's been a long hard road To get here from where I come From but now I'm a livin' high On the hog and the best is yet To come still you can't judge a Book by its cover I have heard Them say, you are and always Will be the product of your long Time gone yesterday... In my heart I will always be A SIMPLE COUNTRY BOY, the South is in my blood. The mountains The rivers and the corn fields I Love, mama’s fresh baked apple pie's Sunday picnics down by the river side Well I'M STILL A SIMPLE COUNTRY BOY and will be 'til the day I die... Oh what I'd give to know then what I know now, it isn't as simple now to Be a superstar, I’ve been bought and I've been sold... Well I ain't the kind to throw in the towel But heaven's I need a little time to myself To get back to my roots and so it's back To the country and back to where I really Feel at home and where I am really alive Don’t you know I'M STILL A SIMPLE? COUNTRY BOY and will be 'til the day I die!
