I'M Sorry Lord

CXXXIV I'm sorry Lord, O please forgive my sin So many times and oft you hear me say Vain empty words that fill a world within That feigns to stay the way it went astray I'm sorry Lord, what do I really mean? With tears confess my life is so much lean Just take away the grief, but not the sin That which I love, I do not truly wean I'm sorry Lord, my sin I do not hate That seem unjust to make thee serve and wait Against thyself my faults would not partake O cast me not, a true clean heart create And though beneath the ashes of my sin An ember lies; tis there where thou hast been
