I'M Me
I have a heart
and a soul that gets hurt,
I'm only as human as you
that's been born on this earth.
I love to dance around my house
though it might look dumb,
don't care what people think
better than feeling glum.
I love to hum and sing
I know I get words wrong,
so what, if that happens
at least I enjoy the song.
I hurt, when people hurt
I'm happy, when they are too,
I don't pretend to be anyone else
try to lift their spirits when they're blue.
I was always taught
it's what's on the inside that counts,
I don't look like a beauty queen
my beauty within, is pronounced.
I have a loving, caring soul
and I do have a heart,
but, if you take advantage of it
we will always be apart.

I wanted to write a poem about the real me. I have a poem titled, "The Real Me," but I think I sold myself short on that one. I like this one better. :O)
