The Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency - we have our own flag, currency and our parliament is called Tynwald.

'Quocunque Jesseris Stabit' In English this means … 'whichever way I am thrown I will stand Whichever way I am thrown I will stand Our Manx motto I think it’s so grand I’ll not be knocked down Will smile and not frown Issues in my life I’ll simply withstand I’m not Manx that cannot be denied Yet our flag makes my heart fill with pride I see the three legs of Man I’ll cheer whenever I can It fills me with such a warm glow inside 10th July 2015 Jan Allison Manx Flag for the Isle of Man Contest:- Tell us about your state flag - Judy Konos

Well done on this Limerick on your flag. Ours is a maple leaf and our province is a wheat sheaf so maybe one with bread and butter might make a humorous one. Have a wonderful weekend. love phyl

I didn't get my poem in first lol - we only have our Manx flag not local ones so I had to base it on the national flag - it really does make me feel proud especially if I see it on the TV - we have two Manx riders Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh in the tour de france at the moment - Mark won a stage yesterday - great to see a few Manx flags waving:-) Hugs Jan xx
