I'M Drowning
When we first met
I'll never forget
The sky just seemed so blue
In the blink of an eye
We flew so high
I was drowning in thoughts of you.
Weeks went by
Full of sad goodbyes
It's meant to be, we knew
The nights were long
And felt so wrong
I was drowning in dreams of you
The pages turned
And memories burned
Our new love found so true
I wanted you here
And I needed you near
I was drowning in love with you
But then a surprise
Hidden deep in your eyes
Our light cast a different hue.
The passion went missing
And when we stopped kissing
I was drowning in heartache for you
Now I'm living this life
No longer your wife
Unsure of what I'm supposed to do
I just sit here and cry
'Till I'm wanting to die
Still drowning in tears over you
I thought we were stronger
Can't take this much longer
I'm sure you would die if you knew
My feelings have changed
And my life rearranged
Drowning in disappointment of you
For all that we had
I'm so thankfully glad
I often look back at the view
And I prey you remember
The glow of each ember
My fire died drowning in you
