I'M All That's Keeping You Alive

Another a cappella song my friend Ashly and I made a long time ago... Here's a link if you want to hear how it's supposed to sound. (This is for you particularly, Silent One, always wanting me to make Youtube vids...) ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS7v9nt1zYg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I wish I can save you But I can't even save myself You beg me for mercy but mercy's empty inside I'm Stronger Again And you're giving in To all of this pain that I am inflicting upon you I am... The whispers in the night The heart that's pounding in your head The darkness over light The monster underneath your bed The death that waits for you Lingering behind every door I'm that voice deep inside I'm all that's keeping you alive I wish I can spare you Your voice faded slowly, now you can't breathe You beg me for mercy But darling I am empty The life's dying out And you're crying out To stop all this pain that I am inflicting upon you I am... The whispers in the night The heart that's pounding in your head The darkness over light The monster underneath your bed The death that waits for you Lingering behind every door I'm that voice deep inside I'm all that's keeping you alive I wish I can save you but I can't even Hold you Please remember: I Still Love You This isn't me but Someone else... The whispers in the night The heart that's pounding in your head The darkness over light The monster underneath your bed The one who's there for you The one who catches all your tears I'm that voice deep inside I'm all that's keeping you alive

I have to tell you laura, just last night, my son made a comment to someone who harmed my Noah... he said, " don't worry about what I'll do to you, you just better worry about what the other me is going to do to you"! Great lyrics Laura, it was a pleasure meeting you, have a beautiful day... Much love, James

Wow, Laura ... I had no idea you could sing. You got a big voice ... much deeper than I expected. Parts of it reminded me of Amy Lee from Evanescence ... I'm impressed by the singing alone .... the sections like, "I'm all that's keeping you alive" and the verses sounded the most melodic to me. Do you plan on keeping it A Capella or will you add music to it later? I think piano would be fitting.

Thanks for reading and listening, and as always, for the beautiful, encouraging words! You definitely know how to uplift! This song was written a while back - Ashly and I were big Evanescence fans, and I figured it deserved the haunting similarity. I picture this song a capella, but sung with a choir background, serving like lost souls singing, along with a strong soloist, or possible duet. That's how I picture it anyway, though, I'm sure with piano it would sound lovely. ~Laura

I used to write more lyrics than poetry, but you got the extra mile and actually put vocals to it ... I never could ... ha ha ha ... keep practicing the singing, Laura. I think you got something there if you keep at it ...
