Illumination
It has just dawned upon me
that you are the sunlight that
lingers when the lights are off
and is cast upon the screen
of the insides of eyelids
when dreaming...
In the course of events,
like breathing and sleeping
or other wakeful endeavors,
I have come to realize
that your presence
has been valued
beyond all others,
although they are loved
with immensity,
none can match the intensity
of the energy emitted
in the course of your events.
Tendrils of moonlight spill
through the curtains or slats
across various pillows
and they seek out your
visage and countenance
to encapsulate the
light that the moon
only wishes it could reflect.
