I'Ll Just Shut Up

In science class, the teacher asks a question, And I know that I can solve this situation. I raise my hand and she calls me, smiling Then I rise to answer and start speaking.
But the words come out in a choked whisper So feeble and unsure, they couldn't be softer, My heart starts pounding as I try not to look weak Trying though struggling to properly speak.
After the answer, everyone stares at me I gasp and look down, trying not to let them see The tears that I know will fall and will not stop As I shakingly mumble, "I'll just shut up."
