I'Ll Just Close My Eyes
This knowledge I possess
It chills me to my core,
In who can I confide
That tomorrow is no more.
I cannot tell my loved ones
I could not bear their pain,
How could I let them suffer
In the hours that remain.
I cannot approach strangers
Like a prophet preaching doom,
Telling them the end is nigh
They'd just think I'm a loon.
Yet as midnight strikes
And oblivion now beckons,
I, and no-one else
Will face those final seconds.
For they have no idea,
That the end time has arrived
No screaming fits, no wailing tears,
I'll just close my eyes.
