If There Is Not a Dream

If there is not a dream I could share with you A rose, a daffodil or tulip to grace A place of confidence to lay your head The floating house on Edmund Trace. ~ If only, I can afford a rug To place upon this concrete floor If only, this is all I can do Be sure, your feet it will adore. ~ If only, I have nothing to offer No luxuries nor strawberry cream No steak upon the kitchen table Or a crib for our baby to dream. ~ If there is anything more than love that matters Then I must walk away For I am the owner of many nothings With a flower pot of clay. ~ If only, I could not offer you everything I still have this one thing to give Be sure, this will be your yours to keep The heart that allows me to live. ~ ~ By:Darren J McMurray March 3, 2009
