If Only

If only I could color the darkness nod and smile, understand it. If only I could squint and see my path not beg every breath to be my humane euthanasia. If only I could be less afraid made of grander things than the pebble that is my soul. If only I could burst the bubble I occupy, instead of being I could not be. Is that an option I can have?
