This poem was inspired by one perfect white flower.

Garlands draped and strung. White creeper blossoms reminiscent of snow penta-hedron, vase shaped, single bells. Five sepal-ed, finial, fillistered, flower bowls. Such delicate geometry predestined from a seed Destiny, fate and duty will always mock one another. Power struggles between courage and cowardice, rest in the lap of higher powers. Increments, irrelevant to atoms. All that will unfold is manifest in flowers. Suzanne Delaney

This was really exquisite, Suzanne. I envy your ability to write in extravagant detail and leave me to ponder about the connections of your words. Nature continues on, vibrant and beautiful, despite what the higher powers are up to. It feels as though your title is almost an after thought ... something the reader must complete in his mind, to connect the dots. If not now ... when. If not now ... someday soon.

Tim: I read a very interesting book titled "The User Illusion." By a Danish writer, Tor Norreanders. http://www.amazon.com/dp/0140230122/?tag=mh0b-20&hvadid=7010162735&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=t&ref=pd_sl_3ysk4hblsv_e . I will send you the quote from it by email that really got me thinking about free will VS destiny and the veto response. SuZ

Hi Tim: I wrote this when I saw an unusual flower on a vine growing near the seashore in Australia. It amazes me that a seed can bring forth such a designed flower, and that how most of life is probably predestined in the same way....if that makes sense.

This poem is so beautiful. It shares the sisterhood we have with flowers, how we are born of seeds delicate yet strong. Love it!

Hi Suz! Just came across this lovely and technically interesting poem. First stanza reminds me of a snowflake...a mixture between reality and perception. A predestined seed which produced this perfect flower. Love your reference to power struggles. #7 // paul
