If January Was a Person

If January was a person, they would be a force of nature. Relentless and unforgiving, but also, beautiful and full of life. January would be the type of person who would wake you up at 5 am with a cup of coffee and a stern look. They would tell you to seize the day, and that there is no time for sleep. January would be the type of person who would push you to your limits, but also catch you when you fall. They would be your biggest fan, but also, your harshest critic. January would be the type of person who would make you want to cry, but also make you laugh out loud. Who taught you the most about yourself, making you the strongest you could be. If January was a person, they would be a friend for life. The person you could always count on, No matter what comes your way. January would be the type of person who would make you just feel alive. The reason you want to wake up every morning And face the world with their borrowed smile. If January was a person, they’d be the best person you could ever know. And when January looked into a floor-length mirror, the reflection staring back would be you.
*I wrote this poem on January 17, 2024, as part of a ’30 days of poetry’ January challenge. This was day 17 and the prompt was: If January was a person what type of person would they be?
