If I Were An Elephant

If I were an elephant, I would be proud of my tusks, proud of my trunk, proud of my fanning ears, proud of my tough hide.... I would walk as though I was kissing the ground with my hooves, as a way of paying homage to the ground that gave me berries, trees for shade, and water. Date of Publishing: 06/12/2016

I was intrigued by the title and liked the direction in which you took the poem. I especially love the image of "kissing the ground with my hooves". Also makes me ponder why we, not being elephants, can't have a similar relationship to our bodies. Agnes
