If I Were a Girl
If I were a girl, I would not
be fooled with flowers,
I will not be tempted to
trade my treasures for
towers.
I will wake up each day
wielding wells of wisdom,
and will never fail to fight
for my feminine freedom.
I will go to bed each night
kissing my kingdom
as I storm the stars and
never bow to boredom.
If I were a girl, I will not
flaunt my features for fun,
I will shun shadows and to
the Rainbow I will run.
I will stand still in the awe
of the silent stream,
and never get scared or
scream in my dream.
I will get the mind and
might of a mild mother,
so my future babies will
never have to bother.
I will wax wonderful so I
can become a worthy
woman,
and make sure my
soulmate is a marvelous
man.
If I were a girl, I will not
have a joule of jealousy
nor have my heart in the
hall of hate and hypocrisy.
