If I Could Take the Moment Back
If I could take the moment back,
With you what would I do?
Would I kiss you long and hold you
Close and pray you'll say I do?
Would I look in eyes so young and bright
And think it all so wrong,
For having nothing of a love
That you had all along?
Would I have stopped the preacher when
He said to me, "will you…" And now
I know It would have been the honorable thing to do.
But the fear I had ran, Oh, so deep
To lose what you could give,
A fear that you would suffer for a thousand times,
Until I realized the true meaning of love.
And now I think of that moment, time after time,
When I could have saved your life,
Or was it my life that was saved,
When I made you my wife.
