If I Could Change the World

I want to save the world The tears rolling down a child's face The disappearance of their mother When she's had too much to drink I want to change the world The panicked screams of students Policemen scatter through the rain Fears based off of black umbrellas I want to protect the world Selling bodies just for dinner Distant teenagers forced fingers Operas of the empty stomachs I want to hide the world A pair of eyes through bedroom windows Declarations of love with threats of violence Nobody could love you like they could Fiery explosions destroying families Cracks of knuckles against walls Poisoned water causing sickness I expected I'd wake up by now We need to change the world
