I'd Like a Little Summer

I'd like a little summer Oh, but not too much, A little kiss of sunshine No more than a touch With cool rain to follow Night breezes that blow, With thunder in the distance And lightning bugs that glow Yes, I'd like a little summer A little warmth in my day, Maybe I'll learn to love her And welcome her to stay.

My favorite line in your poem is "And lighting bugs that glow" Those little guys are a true sign of summer aren't they? What lovely verses.

sounds like a place I'm from. A great page in a poetry book.

My favorite season of the year, Kelly, those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am. John

Thank you for reading my poem and your kind comments on it, John ... I do try to enjoy the summer, but it isn't my most favorite season. I'm still learning to love her though :)
