I Would If I Could

If I could, I would, Write a book of how sorry I am. If I could, I would, But I cannot, Express how much I’m sorry. If I could, I would, Love you to the end, Even if death is around the bend. If I could, I would, Hold so very close, But love seems much too intangible to touch. If I could, I would, Cry you a river, Just so I could drown in it. If I could, I would, Tell you that I’m sorry, Call me a coward, But this is all I have.
