I wonder if our paths had crossed In another place in time Would you want to make me yours With sweet seductive rhyme? I wonder if you saw my face would you think me beauteous fair? And if you saw my sway, my walk would you stop a while and stare? I wonder if you'd ask me out and try hard to impress I wonder if you'd look at me With eyes that would undress? I wonder if you'd try and woo my heart out from my chest? And would you long my lips to kiss Then try your very best? I wonder if you'd find my smile A ray of sunlit grace, and would you think to say to me "You have an angel face"? I wonder if you'd take the time to get to know me well, and would you love what you had found then cast a lover's spell? I wonder if you'd say I'm sweet and hope to have a taste Then would you try to nibble me in slow time: without haste? I wonder, dear, I wonder But these wonderings won't do For life has dealt a hand, dear one I'm here, but where are you? Eileen Manassian

I wonder if life gave us anew restarts on failed loves that were true Sweet Heavens in all their smiles poetry written deep in all the styles A palace to place at their dainty feet A princess for each graving heart to meet. ------------------------------------------------ Loved you great poem--so much that it inspired that quickie my dear friend!A7

Thank you for your visit, Michael. I think a person would be odd if they didn't even at some point wonder..."what if I had taken this path and not the other." I think it is normal, but yes, poets perhaps more than others dwell on these things. Thanks for the visit.

A beautiful, well put together quatrain...this kind of wondering has driven me insane many a time! : ) I must say one should be very lucky to cross your path with your favor and fervor. The last line tugs at me, for I have asked the same question before.. Always, Laura

Wonderings are wonderings, my dear. I am way past my prime, and I do have a good life and a lovely family. :) I am blessed. You are beautiful and young and still have your whole life to live. It's natural to wonder at times if life would have been different this or that way....Being content is a gift. Poets are idealists and always reach for the stars....That is our escape mechanism. :) Thank you for the wonderful visit.

I wonder if my lips were there, the pine of them you would pair, I wonder if my soul were bared with angel's touch you would care, I wonder if my heart you'd tear or happy life we would share...forgive me, your beautiful poem brought verse out from my heart Eileen. I like very much your moments of truth, and how you distinguish between the wonderings and will of love...J.A.B.

Life is full of wonderings at times. You have penned a lovely verse from your heart, Justin. It is very beautiful and you need not ask for forgiveness. The muse will do as she will and we are silent before her ministrations. We are just conduits of her voice. Thanks for the lovely visit...Hugs

Lol....writers live in many times and places, Richard. That is the joy of writing...and reading. It is an escape mechanism. Though one may be happy with his/her lot in life, the mind does at times wonder. Sweet to know the answer is Yes, Mr Seal. Boy, you are being magnanimous.

Absolutely love this one! "I wonder if you'd try and woo / my heart out from my chest?" Sigh. The feeling of "the one that got away" is so bittersweet in this poem. I am happy to have the time to be back on here, reading poetry like this one :)
