I Wonder

There are so many wonders to ponder The Great Mystery of Death, The enigma of time The vastness of the universe It is said a trip of a thousand miles starts with a single step Yet the trip of eighty-odd years ends with a final breath Wouldn't it be glorious, So know, somehow, answers to things never to be known to us? The last day in the life of the last dinosaur? The creation of our vast oceans? The last thing the last man will come to know? Where is my past? Merely locked-up, semi-preserved, in my mind? The exact total of all the grains of sand on earth? What was there before there was a was? Who's running his joint? There will be a day when we meet an alien race.. It's inevitable... But when will it happen? This train of questions could go on forever... But the answers, a far more elusive thing are they.
