I Wish You Would

I wish you would stop to think before cutting trees down, For it's a growing concern that's making this earth frown; I wish you'd stop to think before littering the sea With oil spills and toxic wastes, stop your destroying spree! I wish you would stop to think before bursting crackers, For they cause air pollution and are peace hijackers; I wish you would stop to think before wasting water, Think of how much you can save for your son and daughter; I wish you would stop to think before building towers, For they're taking up the space where we could grow flowers, I wish you would consider before harming Nature, I think it's high time you reformed your legislature; I wish we'd take care of earth like she takes care of us, Time to think twice about this environmental fuss. 3rd April 2023 Title chosen: I wish you would For "This or that, Vol.17" contest Sponsored by Edward Ibeh

A timely caution to all those indiscriminately cutting down trees and polluting our surroundings. Very thoughtful musing, dear Joanna
