I Wish I Knew the Difference

I wish I knew the difference Between head and heart Between right and wrong I wish I knew the difference Between letting go and giving up Between moving on and running away I wish I knew the difference Between denial and lies Between pain and anger I wish I knew the difference Between being slapped and being left Between a broken heart and a broken ego I wish I knew the difference Between too late and never early enough Between yes and okay I wish I knew the difference Between then and now Between thought and think

By the sounds of this poem, I think you have found it. Excellent reflection here, it's so hard, we may know the answer, but when to act, that's the hard part. love, Kristin

If you ever find out let me know. I'm pretty much in the same boat. I like the word choice. I think they carry your message very directly into the reader's mind where he/she tries to figure out if they know the difference. For me I started out with confidence that I do know the difference, that I'm special in my super intuition...I lost that feeling around "denial and lies". Maybe good poetry has to break the reader's ego too...
