I Wish I Could
Never before had I thought,
In the war of words I shall be caught,
And my life would face a love drought,
Just because one day I couldn’t speak out.
The days of misery and guilt would have ended then & there,
Life in the present would have seemed much fair,
Only if I could have opened my heart out,
And confessed my love for her with a shout.
But the societal ties and moral values,
Would have asked me to pay the dues,
For confessing love at the cost of betrayal,
And for choosing a path against the love manual.
So, here I am regretting each day of my life,
For the love of a girl who could have been my wife,
Guess that’s what you call the beauty of fate,
It’s always better to speak out before it’s too late!!
