I Will Not Remember You

Tonight, motionless is my sleep without a thought of you passing my mind And if the wafting wind breathes softly its zephyr breeze upon the pearl blush of my cheek I will not remember you Like the rattling sound of crickets on the first branch of Spring you had come and gone Now your shadow blocks the silver of my moon,no more Like a woodpecker in its last sonata you stole our music but I am learning how to dance without your song Forget-me-not petals scattered in silence on autumn's sidewalk Fluttering snowflakes covered my hair with false proposals and winter frost Your summer footprints have been washed out I lay in solitude,I lay in solitude yet still not lost,No,still not lost Here I am now, a mourning swan yet still a swan which pirouettes on a glass stream There He comes now, splash in calm beauty Fresh face reflecting upon my dream Tonight, motionless is my sleep and if the wafting wind breathes softly its zephyr breeze upon the pearl blush of my cheek I will not remember you
Inspired by Elton John's song- 'The One'

wow, one of your finest poems, Sweetie. I love this one. So many great lines, like the pearl blush on the cheek and how you mentioned it again at the end. Or the part about rattling sound of crickets, mourning swan. the list goes one. Love the images.I gotta fave this one.

We cannot choose what to remember Charma, but we do have a choice as to the interpretation of love. I admire your resolve, to be beautiful after such a big love storm. You write your heart so sincerely, and with charming independence. " I am learning how to dance without your song...Upon the pearl blush of my cheek..." ingenius use of the four seasons as well. This is a poetry as therapy. J.A.B.

This is beautiful, Charma yet also so sad with that touch of irony-- and you also put in such memorable lines and imagery here. Once again, I am reeled into that "Charma" zone-- I really can't pinpoint it, but whenever I read your poems, there is this certain place that I go to, one that is distinctly yours. Do please hug sweet Christina for me...

This is crap b/c I just typed you a nice long message that got deleted somehow! ~This stuff is happening a lot on my laptop! Oh well, TRY AGAIN...This poem entails a beautiful language, with soft words which I love, like zephy and pirouettes and graceful mourning swans. It has it all and an ode to MISTER ELTON ROCKET MAN JOHN, Zero Hour 9am, She packed my bags last night pre flight / Zero hour nine a.m. / And I'm gonna be high, as a kite by then / I miss the earth so much, I miss my wife...
