I Will Not Hate You
I will not hate you no matter what you do to me
You whipped me in the boiling sun, I am in pain but I will not hate you
My back is scarred from your torture, with that belt you have over my head
I will not hate you
My eyes will still see the rising sun my soul has no darkness
I am in the shackles you put me in but I will not hate you
My son is beneath the ground because of your hate, I will not hate you
I see your daughter smiling face as you teach her how to hate me
You try to take my pride and dignity but I will not hate you
My feet are grounded in love I will not hate you "darkness cannot drive out darkness" said Martin Luther King, only the light can
I will not let you pull me so low as to hate you ...I will look in your eyes with the light of love that guides me, I will not hate you
