I Want To Buy My Valentine
I want to buy my Valentine
and get her something good
I don't care if she loves me
or even if she could
I hope to get a blonde girl
Skinny and good looking
maybe one who's smart
and fairly new to hooking
I'll take her to McDonald's
and pay for two to dine
I'll even hand her napkins
when she spills food on mine
I'll walk her through the park
and dodge the doggy doo
I'll even hold her hand
and kiss her right on queue.
I'll put my jacket around her
when she is getting cold
I'll even light her cigarette
and stop when I am told
We'll make a little small talk
We'll stop to watch the ducks
and then it will get silent
and words will turn to shucks
Soon we'll go to my place
to play the perfect songs
I pray they sound romantic
and cover up my wrongs
The night will turn to morning
as we play through the night
I'll try to make some small talk
just to avoid a fight
We'll wake up to some coffee
with toast and peanut butter
I'll say the date is over
and hope she doesn't mutter
I'll see her to the door
and lock it when she's out
Just to spare my feelings
so not to watch her pout
Next year I'll find another
Maybe one with money
and when it ends with toast
I'll have her buy some honey
