I Tried To Stay Away

From across the street I quietly attended your wedding today and I fought for the words I so longed to say. Tender rain fell upon my shoulders leaving numbness from the loss of you. Never has there been a love boulder and once like ours, so true. Hearing your well makes me smile but returns me to the thoughts of all the shared dreams and miles. My old friend why are you so shy it is not like you to hold back when with me and not smile. Only yesterday was our time in this life. I tried to stay away but I could not hide my love or fight it. I hoped when you seen me it would remind you that for us it will never be over. I hoped you would cover the rain falling on my shoulders. The pain in my eyes are falling down my face in tears of truth. I know I shouldn't be here but I had to one more time say I love you. Please never forget how much we cared for nothing will ever be as complete as you and me and all we shared. Take this ribbon you once pulled from my hair and take it with you to remind you I'll always in that memory be there.
