I Think We Must Remember

I Think We Must Remember (the Charleston massacre) By Franklin Price 6/20/2015 I think we must remember What happened at the church Become involved by climbing down From our isolated perch Learn to recognize the signs Of the malcontent and mad Report them to authorities To prevent more future dead To know about and stand and watch As atrocities are done Makes us as bad as the perpetrator We might as well have been the one We must keep our eyes wide open And listen with our ears Not shirk responsibility Prevent more future tears Let us grieve this loss together For this terrible act to cry If just one would have taken action The nine would not have had to die
