I Sleep More Now
I sleep more now
Depression sets in
Misunderstood until I stood before your ashes
A room full of people, lifeless due to your absence
I sleep more now
With hopes, prayers, and dreams that we will meet again
Anxious to see your smile once more
Oh, how you lit up a room
A smile like no other
A smile that made others feel warm inside
Now my sorrow and sadness is something I hide
I shield my feelings from the world around me
There was no other bond like ours
Unexplainable, unbreakable, and never understood by others.
I sleep more now
To see your face once more
I take the chance to close my eyes night after night and receive no sign.
I continue to sleep in hopes to catch one more glimpse of you
You lit up my life more than I think you knew
Your absence is something I must get used to
