I Saw a Fly

I saw a fly land and lie on a page of my book. Did he come to picture look? Or, read with me from my book? I turned the page and off he flew. Maybe when you read your book, he will come and take a look.

There is always pleasure in rhyme. Well done and I think the fly will agree!

Thanks Martin, and do not be surprised if you get a visit from a fly, too. He just wants to read a little while over your shoulder.

Thanks, Maurice for stopping by to read my poem, like the fly that had to also land and take a look. I hope he's pleased at this poem I put him in.

Kind of like the late great Dr. Seuss, who I admire! I really like this one.

Thanks, Andrea, after reading my poem and Dr. Seuss comes to your mind is such a wonderful thing for you to say. I admired him, too, and read all of his books to my children when they were young. He was so funny. And in addition, he usually tried to add an educational theme to his stories.

Thanks, Jimbo But do you realize how hard it is to get published Unless you are well known or a celebrity. Self publishing is costly. I have many children's poems I could put in a book. I have thought of what you suggest, as others have. Maybe someday it will be possible, God willing! But time is running out. I am 77 and living with a pace maker. Just your liking this poem means much to me. Blessings, Darlene

Hi, Friend, just wanted you to know things are being worked out and I, so far, did not have to switch. But I find it a fun challenge to figure out where the back door is to what I want to access. I'm finding them and able to read the daily new poems now. I see you made the list of recent best poems so I am going to go now and read one.

Thanks, Tim, I guess we are never too old to enjoy a child's poem. And I hope I never get too old to stop writing them!

How did you know? Were you eating? And did you give him a bite? They don't eat much you know because they are so small. Thanks for writing. It is so rewarding to get comments from other poets. Blessings, Darlene

It actually happened to me on the trolley while I was reading my book yesterday. The fly startled me and I automatically brushed him away with my hand. But, then I could not stop thinking about that fly! In the middle of the night, again that fly entered my dreams. And this time, I did not send him away, but invited him to stay and visit awhile. I think he wanted to be in one of my poems, so I let him! Thanks for liking this one.
