I Remember Daddy

I remember when daddy helped me catch my first fish At night he'd tuck me in bed and seal it with a kiss As the days grew older he finally gave me away He helped me appreciate life and encouraged me to pray To others daddy wasn't a perfect man, but to me he was 'My King' He would tell me to do my very best and loved to hear his grandchildren sing Oh, how it was such a tragedy...a dream that has no end To face he is now absent from us...a missing father, soldier, and friend But although we can not feel his touch or kiss his smiling face We will await the moment to be with him in an everlasting place
