I Remember

I remember at a time when memory grows vague, the images of a past life remain held in the aftermath of your going away; here in the time of my loneliness the knight is polished in regrets living in the distance between us of the laughter and the tears shed. I should have done better been there when you needed me, the pain lingers in my memory a story told too often in some saddened state where time holds back and skips forward beyond all that once was the you and me I still long to know. I remember you in the travels of my day today, I see your face among the crowds as they all slowly slip away could we give it another do over though time still measures our past surely you feel iy, love that forever lasts, if only you'll come back to me.
