This is a poem about remembering the hurt of a child Not just any child but me. My poetry are of my real life experiences and all am trying to do is to open people's eyes to the silence a person might suffer And that a abuse can be hidden for years but the victim Goes through it every second of the day Without understanding why it happened and blaming themselves So just be there open your hearts and listen and use Your eyes If you are a victim you will know what sign's to look for.
I remember every punch and every kick. Every strike with the leather belt every beating With the stick. I remember every bone that they made crack The blood from the whip and the times my Eyes were black. I remember every time I had to tell lies When people use to ask what happened to Your eyes. I remember every time in a room with a Locked door A dirty stained mattress no carpet on the floor I remember ripped clothes broken shoes on My feet. Being locked away for days with only bread to eat. I remember the beatings and trying not to cry And silently praying that God would let me die. I remember everything like it happened yesterday I only remember the bad things Because the good things fade away.

oh, Paul, I wish you hadn't experienced the pain and abandonment you shared in this poem. You experienced such anguish and suffering that's almost beyond my comprehension. All that to say, your poem is powerful in its message. I appreciate your vulnerability and your kind soul. I'm faving this one, Sara
