I Read a Poem Then Thought About It a Lot

after Dilly Dally She bought a button to be pinned on vintage dresses to be placed back on the lacquered shelf after another day at the gallery: getting lost in brushstrokes of light and shadow, transported like an Echo reverberating on gilded frames It's been sixty years and the vintage dress has been dry cleaned and packed away The button lost to time, yet small circular visions bounce back into my head like Echoes

This sparks another idea I may or may not have written about - about all the visions of yourself left in other people's heads long after you are gone, passing the essence of yourself down the line and still existing. Another thought was I'm not sure whether I now feel like I exist more or whether I'm definitely a figment of my own imagination :) Thank you for sharing that my poem had sparked an idea

I love that premise so much. Figment of your own imagination is such an interesting idea. Thanks for sharing!
